WOW Logan 2022
Curated in partnership with local women in the community, WOW Logan will celebrate the achievements of women and girls living in the city and surrounding areas, while searching for solutions to ongoing gender injustice. Beyond the inspiring stories from women and girls and their own personal journeys in the popular WOW Bites sessions, the 2022 festival will feature a Marketplace of local women-led businesses and services, workshops and performances and the very popular WOW Healing Space.
Guests and performers include leading First Nations educator and author Jackie Huggins; Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Minister for Women and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic and Family Violence The Hon. Shannon Fentiman MP; leading Queensland performance company Polytoxic and First Nation musician Jessie Lloyd joined by many performers and artists from Logan’s diverse communities.
WOW, Logan will kick off with a bang on Friday morning when students from Logan schools (years 10 and 11) will have the opportunity to hear inspirational stories from young women and girls who will talk about finding their passion, overcoming adversity during times of crisis and creating the community and world they wish to live in! They will have a chance to participate in interactive workshops, including designing communities, respecting each other with the team from YFS, and the WOW favourite, Speedmentoring! Here girls will have the opportunity to meet Logan women leaders and share their hopes, ideas and concerns about their future.
