Machine Age – Butterbox Beats

Machine Age are an experimental duo combining rock energy and electronic maximalism with the vivid colours of contemporary classical music, all grounded in songs of heart and humanity. They released their critically well-received debut album “Point of Departure “ in late 2019, earning 2 Queensland Music Award nominations and national radio support.

Their must-see live show has seen them tour and support the likes of The Jungle Giants, Lime Cordiale, Holy Holy, Ainslie Wills and #1 Dads and have collaborated live and in the studio with Cub Sport, Thelma Plum, Slumberjack and Big Scary.

Recently they composed the score to Daniel McKewen’s “Rising Tides” – a finalist in the Ramsay Prize at the Art Gallery of South Australia AGSA; collaborated with Italian electronic Producer “Mazare” on his track “Scared” released on Monstercat.; and composed “Bluey’s Song” for the Blue Hearts Foundation raising money for the Australian Stillbirth Foundation.

Separated by state boarders for much of the pandemic they regrouped in 2022 to work on their Sophomore record “Only the Brave Learn to Lose” coming in late 2023.
