Bowl for Crowson
After the phenomenal success of our last event in May, in collaboration with Safe Haven Community: World’s Biggest Dinner, a lot of people are questioning when the next one will be. Safe Haven Community is charity that provides crucial accommodation and desperately needed additional support services, for women and children escaping domestic abuse. With the help of the local community, we managed to raise over $7,000 for Safe Haven Community.
Now, with our second anniversary quickly approaching in November, we thought it was a perfect opportunity to not only mark our anniversary but to also help raise funds for Crowson Park Riding for The Disabled.
In our July issue, we introduced Crowson Park Riding for The Disabled and the amazing work their volunteers do on a regular basis. Crowson Park Riding for The Disabled is a not-for-profit organisation that offers traditional riding tuition for physically and intellectually disabled people of all levels of ability and ages.
Horse riding instruction works wonders for the riders in assisting them in reaching physical milestones of improved strength, balance, general mobility, postural correction and flexibility. However, it also does so much more than that.
It develops self-esteem, a feeling of worth and a sense of personal achievement. It builds bridges in our community and develops social relationships and friendships. As a result of that editorial, they had several volunteers sign up and dedicate their time to help out.
So, on the 12th November, QLD Guides are proud to present the ‘Twilight Bowls’ at the Beenleigh Bowls Club where you will:
- Twilight lawn bowling in teams
- Drinks, Dinner & Live entertainment
- Auctioning off donated items to raise funds
- Raffle Tickets & more
